Did anyone go to Tulsa? Comments on attendants? I was getting my second shot and didnt want to take the chance. But I plan to go in November.

How did the second shot go?
Posted By: backtobethel Re: Tulsa - 04/13/21
Hi Rick. We ventured down. It was very busy. The activity level on Friday was unprecedented. Heard numerous dealers talking about high levels of sales. Didn’t see any notable 99s. Lots of 99s, just no notables.

Heard 3rd hand that it was busier than some sellers had ever seen it.

Wife and I had no problem with either shot (Phizer).

Thanks for the info on the Tulsa show. I thought about it many times over the weekend.

Got my second shot as well, no problems. Life might get a bit more back to normal.
Posted By: LazyL0228 Re: Tulsa - 04/14/21
We got our second as well wife did ok not the same for me down for 48hr. But after that ok I do the same with the regular flu shot as well. Do not know why. I would love to go to that show maybe Nov. Good to hear people out buying, selling, trading.
Big show here in Indy this weekend but busy with g-kids.

Getting my first shot today.

Wife and I had no problems with either shot - Pfizer. Daughter was down with the second one though. Very random reactions with no rhyme or reason...

Nice to be headed back to 'normal' though!!

Got my second shot yesterday, Moderna, sore arm feel great. First shot sore arm felt like crap for 24 hours. Go figure.
Posted By: Anteloper Re: Tulsa - 04/14/21
I was there Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Great show!
Probably the biggest crowd I’ve seen there but not to the detriment of enjoying it. Every dealer seemed pleased with the amount of sales.

Have received both shots of Moderna. Only effects were sore arm with both shots and with second shot I was incredibly tired the day after. In the family, a 91-yo and a 87-yo (both female) received both shots with absolutely zero side effects.

I do have a 62-yo cousin that had the coronavirus in January. She has a lingering problem - she has passed out several times; will be seeing a neurologist.

Both Pfizer shots completed here. Absolutely zero side effects either time, not even a sore arm.

GF got the Moderna series, and felt pretty rugged for 24 hours after the second one.

My brother had a table at Tulsa and said it was really busy and crowded to the point of not a lot of fun.

My 1st and 2nd Moderna weren't pleasant the next 48hrs. Same symptoms as COVID just didn't last as long.
Posted By: Clynn Re: Tulsa - 04/14/21
I was there, and yes it was crowded to the point of being hard to see what was on some tables .
Posted By: Southern_WI_Savage Re: Tulsa - 04/14/21
I didn't see a "covid statement" on the Wanenmacher web site.
Curious, was the crowd supposed to be masked and distanced? and were they?
We're still masked and distanced here in S.WI

Rugged's probably OK, but whatever you do, for the love of all that is Holy, DO NOT call her sturdy.

Turns out women don't appreciate a good compliment.

Brother, I learned that lesson a loooong time ago!
Posted By: gunrunner49 Re: Tulsa - 04/15/21
I bought a nice 99R in 250 and sold my 375 and several other guns. It was very crowded and probably 50/50 masked vs. unmasked. We have lifted the mask mandate here in Williamson county Tn. I quit wearing one months ago.

First Moderna, no issues. Second Moderna, felt a little off when I woke up the next day progressing to a low grade headache, body aches and pains and extreme fatigue. Twelve hours of sleep that night and back to regular the next day.

I was exactly this with the Moderna.

Got my Moderna Wed, when I pulled my t shirt on this morning I felt it. That's all so far.
Posted By: Calhoun Re: Tulsa - 04/16/21
Wife got her second Moderna yesterday. Just got home from work and found she's running a 100 degree fever. Bet she's over it by tomorrow or Sunday.

My family and I along with pretty much everyone I know were naturally vaccinated - if there was no "thing" called covid not one person I know would have thought it to be more than a cold/very low grade flu of some sort. Other than loss of taste that is, that was a little different. I cover a lot of ground in the midwest so I'm not talking just a local experience.

As to gun shows, went to KC gun show a few weeks ago. It was absolutely slammed at times with every demographic. Black rifle tables were numerous and popular - there was a booth with several tables full of uppers for $280-320 that was restocking every time I went by. Ammo was was everywhere at GB pricing with plenty of buyers. I saw several nice lever guns at decent prices that pretty much all sold by day two.

I went specifically for 99's and saw two - a 308 with the front sight missing and in decent shape for $700 and a 303 that was really nice for $895. I was looking for a 243 and would have bought a nicer 308 but no luck there.

Maybe covid is over rated. My 68 year old paraplegic cousin was feeling crummy for a week. He got tested after he felt better and it came up positive that he HAD HAD covid. He has a lot of underlying health problems. He had not had the vaccine. Go figure!
Posted By: Calhoun Re: Tulsa - 04/17/21
I think it was definitely overhyped for most people, who were never in much danger from it. But as Cuomo proved in NY, it can definitely kill tens of thousands of vulnerable people.

They say you can have long lasting effects from having the virus...https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...ronavirus-long-term-effects/art-20490351

We had a good time at Tulsa this year after a year layoff. Miss Morty stayed at the table and sold guns while I roamed mask free and bought a few. A kind of grey rat Imp came home with me at twice the price of the last one I sold. Just wanted another 22 HP. Good show nice people, missed Rick 99. Wife and I both had our shots. Got my letter back on the nice 1899 CD that I got a while back. Pretty ordinary stuff, 9 lines of info. including takedown, checkering, A3, pistol grip and sold to McIntosh Hardware with no address. This is what you get for $75.00.

The day after his symptoms went away my cousin said he felt great. The only reason he got tested for covid was he lost his sense of smell towards the end of feeling bad.
Yes, it can and does make some people very sick and kills some. So does the flu. The gub mint doesn't shut down the country every year during flu season. Covid can be bad, the Democrats blew it all out of proportion to damage the economy to help hurt Trump's reelection chances. The best lie contains an element of truth.

I don't think it was as good on Sunday. I did most of my dealing with dealers on Friday. Saturday was packed.
Prices were all over the map.

I'm fairly new to your planet and never knew this show existed. I'm going to mark it on the calendar for next year. Sounds like a nice trip and a way to spend a few days away.

Can a person from out-of-state purchase a gun? I.e., I am from Texas - would I be able to purchase a gun at a gun show in Oklahoma or some other state?
Posted By: crsides Re: Tulsa - 05/04/21
I thought the show was no more crowded than past shows, in the last 6 yrs anyway. I had a good show selling and buying. Bought a 1911 US Army 45 that shipped april 1912. Serial #22xx. Plus got two baby chief S&W's, one with the round front sight.

I was pleased.
