hey folks, not sure if this one has been covered in past but is anyone doing a survey on 30 inch barrels. I would be curious to know the numbers known on surviving examples in round, octagon and half octagon, plus what caliber they are. if anyone has one please tune in or if you know of one that can be validated. cheers
28" exist as well.
Where is "Dataman"?
thanks for the link to the past thread. I just got my 25-35 18 99C home here..it is 30 inch and very high condition. I purchased it from the John wright collection. he had notes attached that it was purchased at savage fest 2007 from doug faery. has factory letter with it and all checks out fine.

You have GOLD! A 1899 C in 25-35 with a 30" barrel and high condition!!

No need for a suppressor on that .25-35! Mild, cool, and still firmly packed....

Dick already gave his info.. he has the B in 303.
Since so many responded with 28's also, why not do a list of all non standard barrels, wont be that much bigger?
I have a friend that has a 30 inch Savage that is chambered in 32/40. I'm not sure of all the details but I'll try to find out.

I think he was in Tulsa. On 7/21/21 in the 30" 30-30 thread, he posted, "Checking my 1899 data up to WWI, about 1100 rifles, I count 7ea 30" and 10ea 28" have turned up. In the 1895 data, about 590ea there are 5ea 30" and 4ea 28". I have one 1903 28" 1899-B in .303 but it is a gray rat."
Thanks for covering for me Keith. Just not enough hours in the day sometimes.
