So today I picked up my 3rd 99---a 250-300TD to go with the high power TD and the .300.The 250 has a lot of character in it's stock if you know what I mean,I was thinking of replacing it with somehting from Macon stock, but maybe not.I thought the LOP on the 250TD was short, but in comparison to the .300 surprisingly it was the same.Man I love these rifle, wish I had found them years ago.How hard is it to replace the extractor in one of these?I have my eye on 30-30 saddle ring that's missing that part.

If you start with a new extractor it will need fitted to your bolt. Takes some time but not overly difficult. A used one might drop in but it is used so I wouldn't. I have some new ones if you need.

I would not mess with the stock unless it is absolutely broke. Fitting a new on isn't the easiest task and will kill its value.

You might be surprised how much character could be removed with some careful steaming and a good refinish.
