I think that truck has Firestones on the front:)
That is the first good info I have seen on the Savage Tire Co. Thanks Rick.
you're a helluva researcher, you should write a book!!!
In 1928 as the Goodyears and Firestones were squeezing out small tire manufacturers Savage Tire Company was sold to Sampson Tires.

Sampson Tire existed from 1928 to 1930. The buildings sat empty for 2 years.
Until Aztec Brewing repurposed the buildings into a thriving brewery.

And much as the Savage Arms Plant was repurposed over the years ending with the Charleston Mall and falling into disrepair, so too did the Savage Tire Company buildings.
You can recognize the brewing areas and the Rathskeller.

Some of that I've been able to dig up, but you found more than I did. Good job!

Great thread

I think a much more complete history (biography) book of Arthur Savage waiting to be written...

I don't know about an entire book, but we can definitely fill in some of the timeline cracks in more detail.
There are a few more areas that are a little fuzzy yet. Once one starts to look who knows what may pop up.

I re-read the AWS bio in Bailey's book that was done by Arthur's great nephew which is probably the best known bio to date.
And even in that bio it says something to the effect that "Arthur either invented some kind of tire or has something to do with tires."
I guess we now know yes, Arthur "had something to do with tires"...
Another data point...
