This just flipped with no buyer after a week, so although it's live now it's legit to talk about.

Uncheckered
No roll stamps
Sling studs
Top d&t holes for target mounts
No plaque mounted this time, but owner may have just not installed it.

Had to look for the top holes to identify it. Serial number 376607, in 250-3000. As hard as these are to spot, I really wonder how many there are.

PS: for any potential buyers.. look at the left side of the receiver real close before bidding.

999.99 would be absolute tops not a starting bid. The seller should have a penny auction and he will quickly find out the rifle's worth.
Interesting side note..

Both Style 1 and Style 2 are uncheckered, but Style 2 has rollstamps. The two styles overlap from 375,xxx to 377,xxx.

I think it's just the order the guns were finished in personally. But at 376607 there are some lower serial numbered guns with roll stamps.

Might have been for two different customers.
It could be different customers. But with the overlap being only about 3 months of production, that seems odd to me.

It would have had to be a contract for another vendor that ended right as Style 3 showed up with a checkered buttstock and rollstamp. Not impossible, might have just been 1 or 2 shipments of EG's to a retailer.
Just weld a 1/4" plate over the holes.
You can thread them and put two timed screws in there. smile
Those holes are for two purposes I believe. 1) They serve as pressure release outlets for hot loads and 2) They serve as cooling vents. Besides other 99's, I've seen alot of Remington 8 and 81's with holes all over the left side of the receiver also and surmised that is why they're there. eek whistle grin
More likely, it's bubba learning to drill and tap holes in rifles.
