with a serial number F206013 when would have been made?
Alpha numerical serial number F206 would be a 1992 manufacturer date.
Yep, around November 1992 to be really precise.
What's the Savage gun? Not a 99?
thanks, thought it would be older
I'm trying to find a reasonably accurate manufacture date for a Savage Model 99A V1 Style 2 (24" tapered barrel, ramp front sight and a flattop sporter rear sight) serial number 3063XX. So far, from a variety of sources I have found:
1920 from an AI App.
1918 from American Rifleman
1928 from Savage99.com
1927 from SavageLevers.com
Thoughts or sources? Thanks.
The first two are horribly off.
The third one is using Murray's numbers, I think.
Fourth is mine..
Very end of 1927 is best I've been able to narrow it down. Possibly Jan. 1928. Guns don't ship in order, so your specific rifle may have shipped in 1928 even if the serial number range first started shipping in Dec. 1927.
Have to letter it to be more precise. If you do, share the ship date with me.. every letter makes my ranges more precise.
Thanks. Haven't decided to get letter. If I do, I will share.

its a 110, a much nicer model than the average savage, must have been a deluxe

Royals book says it’s an early 1928 production according to the serial number.
Thanks.
Can you give me the full name of the Royals book?
