So far I only know Gary and I are going?
If anyone wants a Cody Search done PM me youy name, phone #, serial # of rifle and brief description of the rifle. Its only 5 bucks so I have it covered. I have 4 spaces left.
If you have a plain jane 300 EG, please dont have me search it. Save the searches for something special.
I was thinking about lettering my 1902 Engraved rifle. The guys here told me what every special order feature on the rifle was. The search told me the exact same thing, so no 75$ letter.
My 1929K in OK shape, with Noske scope, and initials tastefully carved in the stock came up as being sold to the Western artist Joe Mora. I'm going to letter that one.
Maybe one of the guys can post what years cant be searched or give no usefull info?
I plan on being at the show at least till lunch on Saturday. If you see this on Saturday, ill be checking my PM's right till I leave, take a chance and send your info. I may still be there?
On the off chance I get my 5 searches, and more guys want one, I'll ask Gary to drop them at the desk and Ill pay for them. If you have my number, by all means call me.
Joe,
I have an 1899 from 1910 (107###) that had aftermarket engraving. I would be curious about it’s birth information if you still have inquiries available. I’ll gladly send you the fee. If so, PM your number and I can call or text. Thx. Mike
Roy, for five bucks, who cares. Yes its worth it. Text yhe serial and details of the gun to me on my cell. You can buy the beer next time.
Mike, when I get home I'll PM you. Might be a couple hours.

Deal. Thanks Joe.
I have 2 for you Joe. Really wanted to meet up with you guys. Next time.
While Joe is standing in line at the Cody table I'll scurry on ahead and snatch up the 1895 mislabeled as a 99 with only the butt stock peeking out from under a table, for $800.
Seriously, the Baltimore show is a lot like Tulsa in some regards, only smaller - only a thousand tables instead of ten million. For us here in "Blue State Pergatory" it's the best (and only) game in town. I look forward to it like most other kids look forward to Christmas. My local buddy is now the Vice President of the organization that puts on the show. He thought he had an "inside track" to a table at this year's show which would've gained my access as a vendor, but even he couldn't get moved to the head of the line. So much for "knowing somebody". I've started the initiation process to become a MAACA (Maryland Antique Arms Collectors Association) member so hopefully, maybe, probably not, the situation will change next year.
Mike, when I get home I'll PM you. Might be a couple hours.
Joe
I have one that might be interesting for the group
A bbl band carbine that is factory drilled like the Spiegle rifles maybe for belding and mule? I was told the rifle was early enough to letter it may shed some light on that subject?

I'm not trying to imply that it isn't, but how can you tell it's factory drilled?
There are 99s around with the Spiegel style D&T that aren't Spiegels. I once owned a 99B in .303 that was D&T that way. Ser. No. 331430 It was simply D&T for scope blocks which were common in the day.
The original consignee was J.L. Galen NY.
My H has the Spiegel holes and studs but no engraving. It also lettered to being shipped to Spiegel.
Been here a long time
I know!!
I would like to know the results on ctw's rifle.
Chris PM me the serial. That will be cool if it letters as an SS.

There were several special features to the Speigle guns over the years. Some only had one or two features, some had more. One was the roll engraving, which all did not have, and another was two D&T holes under the rear sight. On the one I had the barrel was milled flat, under the rear site, where the two holes were drilled. It's been discussed that the holes were drilled for a Belding and Mull base, and it seems they fit standard scope blocks of the time.
Hi Joe
SN 357431
Should come back as a 99H barrel band in 303 savage
Would be interesting to see all of the entries for it they may have had some sort of code for the holes?
Thanks Chris
All mine said was shipped to Spiegel Chris.

I would like to know the finding from anyone willing to share their results . Can't have too much data.
Well, looks like I owe everyone a refund, Cody wasn't there this year.
Oh well! Thanks for trying! I went to a small show today, picked up 300 win large rifle primers for 20 bucks, and a box of 22 HP ammo half rem, and half win. For 25 bucks
I bought a Ballard #3 Gallery rifle, mint .22 bore (re-lined by C.C.Johnson, for those in the know), Lyman tang sight equalling a third of what I paid for the gun. Going back up today because I tossed and turned all night over a Stevens single shot I left behind on a table....
Thank goodness it's only a 40 minute drive.
Seemed like a heckuva lot of Savage lever guns this year, more than normal. I wasn't shopping for any so didn't pick any up but prices seemed to run in the inflated regions we've come to expect as normal nowadays.

So now you owe me a beer?
LOL

I think it was double or nothing, might owe you 2.
Oh well. Thanks for reaching out to everyone and for your willingness to try. Hope it was a good show otherwise.
I appreciate it also, Joe. I'll search the gun show listings to see if there are any others in the next couple of months that the Cody reps will be attending - if not, I'll probably bite the bullet and pay the $75 they're asking.
For the $150 membership you get 5 lookups. Just an FYI.
they are always at the CGCA collector's show. It's May 18 and 19. I won't be there this year.
Jessica from Cody was at the last Tulsa show, I don't know how long ago you had them do a look up at a show, but the last couple years I have been charged $10 each.
I got 5 on 3/18/23 for $5. Must have gone up right after that?
