Hi all, This is my first post. I bought an 1899 Savage in 22 hi power the other day. (#125XXX) Just recieved ammo today. I will go to the farm tomorrow and try it out. Can't wait! Does anyone have any experience with this round? Thanks in advance, Steve
It's my favorite round for groundhogs on the farm. Good luck. JW
Welcome to the forum, and good taste on the rifle!
I had no joy with the 22HP till I began useing .228, 60 gr bullets. Most factory ammo is loaded with bullets that are too small and too long.
Ken Waters says the .227 Jacketed bullets are the bee knees for the 22 HP, when using lead, he suggests the .228. Les
