Ok here's the situation. At an estate sale I spotted a 99EG. The thing is it was detail stripped and in a box. All of the parts and pieces seem to be here. However the rotary magazine was disassembled. What is the correct procedure for setting up the spring tension for the mag? Every thing else is in pretty decent condition, but was proffesionaly reblued. Not a big deal since I wanted a shooter. The previous owners family was little help with info. The great news is I picked the thing up for $45.00.

www.savageparts.com

Click on the link. Click on lever action 99. Click on Savage 1899 book. Wait a while as it loads. Go to page 8 or so in the book. You'll find instructions to disassemble/assemble your lever safety 99.

Then say "thanks Steve."

Right now everything is in solvent to clean it up. I inventoried the parts, all are there. There is a hairline crack in the butt stock, but thats looks to be an easy fix. Some rust to clean up, bore is sharp, but just a little frosty.
