Does any one have this caliber?
Posted By: 99guy Re: Savage 110 7X64 Brenneke - 06/16/09
Here in the states we call that one a 280 rem.

Not trying to be smart, but do they even make that in 110?

Interesting. I wonder, did they make any in this (or any other) European caliber with foreign marketing in mind? Did Savage actively market the 110 overseas?

They made some for a foreign market about 10 years ago, after the order was filled at least 3 were avaiable could have been more,I would have bought all 3 if they would have sold them.

I have seen a 7x57 (7mm mauser)in a 110 for sale lately. Said it is one of a limited run of 1000. Very nice grained wood on it.

Blair
As a matter of fact, I HAVE seen one WITH a FULL case of Remington ammo. Also saw one the same day in 7X57 Mauser. Not only that, I saw a 110 with a serial number that I'll blank onto the first 3 instead of the last 3. XXX00. I am still smiling this morning. The case of ammo amazed me as much as the rifle. I know this is an old thread and don't need to be reminded. Sometimes the sun never sets.

So how about prototype 110"s?
I didn't see any prototypes, but then again I didn't ask. A couple that I was privy to hold and handle had never before been unsealed since they left the factory. It boggles my mind to know a gun could possibly last that long without being opened. It was unreal.

Pictures?
Nope. I took none.

Did they have the orange camo stock? Someone had one posted here that they did the scope to match. I think it may have been Larry Root?

If I remember correctly, yes they did have the orange camo stock.

Sqweeler, that is a beautiful Schoenauer! how long have you had it? They're getting pretty expensive now, if you could find one in that shape. Have you shot it? that scope mount is uber cool.

I have one of the Savage 110 in the 7x64 caliber. Bought it on a whim at Grice's Gun Shop in '91 or '92. They had 2, could of bought both. Knew nothing about them then.
Can't find any info on it anywhere. Savage records only go back to '95, when they were sold. Gun shops never heard of or seen one. Not listed anywhere. Read somewhere, only 3 were left behind.
S/N starts with "FS", meaning fjberglass stock. Mine had a :really" cheap wooden stock, looks like an apple wood.
Would be interested in worth if anyone knows or has a rough idea. I think I gave $249 at the time.
Ammo wise, I bought 2 boxes factory Remington at the time, since have had 100 rds handloaded. I've only ran maybe 5 or 6 rds through it. Shoots well.
My first post. Sorry if long winded.
Saw one a few years ago in 7x61 S& H I am pretty sure it was custom barreled though , still I just about jumped on it. MB

Great Bluecat1! Welcome to the 'fire. We'd be interested to see the barrel stamps on this one

Took a pic of the barrel stamps. Now, if I can find out how to attach it. Haven't figured it out. Any ideas?
My factory stock looks nothing like the one on Gun Broker. I'll have to dig it out. It's in the garage somewhere. I don't think mine has any checkering. I put a Bell & Carlson fiberglass stock on it right after bringing it home.

IIRC, that miserable troll Larry Root was advertising a 110 in 8x57 back then.
