Looking for a vintage 22 LR semi-auto rifle, What model should I be looking for?
I have several singles and bolts already.

Ammo:
One complete box Western Super X Silvertip 150 gr 300 Savage (3003). $25 SPF pending funds

Two complete boxes of Remington 6mm Remington 80 gr Pointed soft Point (R6mm1). $25

Three complete boxes of Remington 250 Savage 100 gr Pointed Soft Pt. (R250SV) and
two boxes on once fired brass. $60 SPF pending funds

One box of 10 cartridges and 10 fired cases (some corrosion) of Winchester 250 Savage
100 gr Silvertip (X2503). $10

All boxes and ammo in new condition with the exception of the 250 fired cases that will need minor
cleaning on the case heads. I'm not up on prices so it's negotiable and willing to trade as well.

Hard to beat a good Savage Model 6 with "gills"! I like the tube fed model. The 1950s and early 1960s vintage seem to me to have excellent workmanship (and scope grooves, in case you need those). The Stevens 87s are the same action with poorer wood (but that sexy "ebony" forend tip!).

Another fairly common .22 that works is the Remington 550 of about the same vintage.

The two "Cadillacs" are the Winchester 63 (VERY pricey) and the Belgian Browning (also pricey and not as accurate as the previously mentioned rifles, in my experience. But it takes down, as does the Winchester).

The Winchester 63 is 1 of the nicest vintage semi-auto .22 LRs ever made, much nicer (IMO) then anything from any of the other American builders. I hate Brownings and the Remington 24/241 clones because of the bottom ejection of hot cases down your shirt sleeve.

Like the 550 somewhat but not the price on the 63s. Will have to look for the 6s.

If you want a good 22 auto, get a Ruger 10/22. Not high priced too bad and will last a life time.

I have my bro's in the safe and had one before.

I want a rifle with character and history as aside from the 44 mag lever all my rifles are prior to 1970 and most go back to 1895-1930.

My Ruger 10/22 dates to 1964. I don't like new rifles either.

I know where there is a decent Savage 1914......

The 63 was a must have for me until I had one it went down the road pretty Quick it did not like to cyle but one plus for them is they hold there value. If i had to have a semi auto 22 I would buy an older ruger.
