Going thru the closet and ran across a 22-410 that I had not seen since I was a young boy [52 now, still a long way from old]wooden stock and fore arm, left side of bottom barrel says STEVENS SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION CHICOPEE FALLS MASS USA MODEL 22-410 right side of bottom barrel says PROOF TESTED 410 BORE ---3 INCH CHAMBER--- top barrel says 22 LONG RIFLE,barrel selector button is on right side, external hammer, breakdown lever works either direction.Personal opinion it is above average condition but not perfect by any means,it does fire and eject properly.I am curious as to date of manufacture, and ballpark value,I am headed to a gunshow in Sparta Tn. this weekend and do not know if I want to take it along and try to peddle it or not. Thanks in advance for any info.

Welcome to the forum from Lafayette! I believe Savage produced firearms in the old Stevens plant in Chicopee from 46 to 81, when they moved to Plainfield. Does it have a serial number? Some pictures would help in placing a value on it. Did you have a price in mind?

Might also want to look over it to see if you can find a stamp in an oval that consists of one or two numbers followed by a letter. Probably on the barrel?

The letter would tell us the year. Here's an example from a Savage 99 showing a 17I.

FWIW, Savage had long moved the Steven's ops from Chicopee Falls to Westfield by the time I was transferred/stationed to Chicopee (Westover AFB) in 1962.
IIRC, the move came soon after the 1960 Savage move there from NYS.

AFAIK, the "Stevens Model 22-410" designation was discontinued a year or two prior to the 1950 introduction of the Savage Model 24.

I sold this ca.1939 Stevens 22-410 Tenite, last year, for $450 via walking it around a gun show.
