I haven't been able to find a lever bushing screw, anybody? I've got a few 99 parts if someone needs a trade, or ??? Thank you.
I think I have one Roy, will check for you

Oh the 99F will be acceptable as a trade, I would expect you to cover all shipping and export costs on the rifle. I am also accepting offers on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, bank checks are ok

Johno

I clicked on Savage and scrolled till I found model 99. Clicked on the first one, just "99". Good luck!
Roy, I have the bush, but not the screw. My life story if you follow me. If you need the bush let me know

Joh
P.S.
Bridge sold
John,
Please advise on suitable bridge substitutes, i.e. rail cars, flatbed trailers, etc and shipping cost to US. *Prefer titanium construction. Yes, life story, understood. How is it a guy ends up missing a lever bushing screw without the same life story?! grin grin
I guess $25 isn't bad, that's about 35 cents of the Queens money huh? And if I don't buy the screw, I'll be needing that bushing soon Johno!
Fireball here is the e-mail to popperts .Their site shows that they have the lever bushing and screw . Tom mailto:[email protected]
Hey sooner, thanks for the link. The lever bushing screw is only $2.50! Looks like a minimum order would be about $15, but I'll add a couple other items to the order to make it worthwhile. Thank you so much for the help all.
Lever bushing screw not available from Popperts. Still needing one. Thanks for the help.
Look at E-Bay, they show up from time to time.
Steve
I've been on ebay like ugly on moose, nothin yet.
I made a lever bushing screw. It is a common size/TPI (I forget what size/TPI)

IIRC , I modified a round head or pan head , chucked it in an electric drill & filed the head to the size/shape that was needed. I think that I also had to recut the screwdriver slot with a Dremel tool. Polished it , then a touch of cold blue...

OK , The screw is free , however it is attached to a rifle that will cost you $932 + shipping.

Mike
Must be a Gunbroker Special EG in 300 to bring that money!
The screw size is 10-32 , however that was in a post-mil rifle.

I just tried a 10-32 in a pre WWII rifle & it won't quite work , the threads are 32 but the screw size is almost-but-not-quite a 10. In this case the hole in the bushing could be chased out with a 10-32 tap.

Mike,
Thank you for your work on my behalf. I appreciate it. I swapped a couple around myself, all post WW2, and they interchanged. Hadn't tried any older.
Since it's the holiday season I'll part with one.

I'll PM the info.

Mike, I can't thank you enough. Thought this was going to turn into a bigger drama for me. Payment on the way. smile
Roy
