Anyone ever mounted a dovetail to weaver, see through base on a 24?
I am thinking that the base as a crude peep with a tall front sight would work for the 410 and a mini red dot on top for the 22.

Therein lies the failing of combination guns of all stripes. What's good sighting for one barrel is a handicap for the other barrel. Sights of any kind, even the basic factory sights, which allow for precision management of the rifle barrel detract from the skillful use of the shotgun barrel on moving targets- the grouse flashing away, the rabbit zigzagging through the brush, the squirrel skittering along a tree limb. They are a boon for the turkey hunter (for the guy with a 20 or 12 gauge barrel- who would want to try that trick with a .410?), but that's it, IMO.

The higher quality German/Austrian combination guns that solved that problem utilized a spring loaded pop-up tang sight which one deployed when switching to the rifle barrel. That left the front rifle sight to double as the shotgun bead leaving the span between the shooter's eye and the front of the barrel uncluttered, as any accomplished shotgunner will tell you is paramount to successful shotgunning.

I'm not looking to wing shoot geese at 50 yards. It's a squirrel and bunny gun.
The dot for aiming and the see through tunnel for pointing when the leaves are on and the wee tree rats are hiding whilst chewing about their nuts.
Just wondered if anyone had mounted an over under, see through, weaver base on one of these skinny ass dovetailed barrels, and if so, what fit without without adapters, clamps, epoxy and rubber-bands?
