What year did they stop the .303?

I've heard they dropped the 303 Savage in 1927 and I've heard 1946. Are either of these right?

Murray shows it listed in the EG starting in 1935. I thought I've heard of a couple post war EG's in 303, but I may be wrong, Joe.

I've always understood WWII as the cutoff point. Considering that we are talking 1941 to 1945, and that everything in the country switched over to wartime production, your guess for the exact year is as good as mine.

I once saw a 303 EG with a 46 serial number. Last I knew it lived with 300Jimmy.

Someday I intend to see a straight grip .303 in my gun closet. I don't care what year but it needs a straight grip.
