Thank you. Since We got two bonus doe tags filled this year I been holding out on filling my buck tag. Passed on a 10 point whitetail, a heavy but small eight, two other eights, a six, and a two point mule deer!

I had a chance opening day on two real good ones, have seen them off and on the last four days......hope springs eternal.

I harvested a 15 inch wide, 15 inch high eight pointer! Yesterday. I got photos will try to post or maybe email to some one who can! Used the 99 T in 300 savage. Hornady 160 FTX and Lever lotion powder! 300 yards, got one of them jim shocks 3 legged shooting stick I like it! By far the largest whitetail I have ever tagged!

Funny story about the hunt, I walked up to the BLM land to gain elevation and get closer to where they watered. I saw 3 shooter bucks in my own field....675 yards.....and every time the shooting stick made a metallic sound the bull elk heading up the mountain would start to bugle! I had nine mule deer locked on to me at 80 yards....it was really hard to not spook them mule deer, not to become to enamoured with the elk herd behind me, not freeze my hands so bad I couldn't shoot, and try to keep focused on the buck I wanted to harvest. There was about half a dozen good bucks in the group. What a great day!
