2K! Holy krappers Batman, have mercy. I'm sorry, but I'm going to be the guy who says that's just a chit pot load of money. Someone has to represent the pocket book on this forum and I know its your choice to make, but you did ask.

Buy it! Not a great price but sounds in the fair range if the bore is truly that good.

Have you held it in your hands or going by word of mouth?

I held it in my hands. I know where it is. It’s an hour away. I would give the guys number but he doesn’t ship.

By the way, did I mention I didn’t buy it. smile

Most of the 99s there were overpriced and had modifications.

Funny;no one asked what condition it was in. 30% blue;60% blue; 80% blue. Makes a hell of a diff. in value.

I passed on an 1899 A Short rifle with nice bore, real nice wood and metal, in 38-55. Serial was in the 58,000 range. I dropped out of the bidding at $1600 and it sold for $1700. I passed because it had swivels. Haven't seen one since, wish I had of grabbed it while I had the money, Joe.

No, I've never seen it, yes I would like to see it. Knowing your taste, if someone used it to split firewood, it would not be in your collection, so I'm guessing it's special, Joe.
Joe, I was poking fun at DGF. I bought the rifle from him. It's not a C, it's a B.
At any rate it's the 2nd one up from the bottom. All 5 are there .303, 25-35, 30-30, .38-55, and 32-40.
