They are cool. I had the twin to that one. Heck it could be that one, I sold it to a guy in Pennsylvania. Manipulating the two hammers can be tricky if trying to cock only one or the other, but they are easy to thumb back together due to the way they kind of nestle into each other. Barrels could be a little longer for better balance for shooting moving targets, but their charm kind of mitigates that failing.

It appears that Tenite® was introduced in 1940 on the No 22-410 and No 530 shotguns, there is a note in Steven's catalog No 40 with a price list dated Jan 2, 1940 for the No 22-410 that "THIS MODEL NOW SUPPLIED WITH WALNUT STOCK AND FORE-END. AVAILABLE WITH TENTE STOCK AND FORE-END AFTER JULY 1st."
The over-under 410, No 240 is added in catalog No 41, price list dated June 16, 1941 @ $17.15 - only available with Tenite® stock & fore-end.
In catalog No 43, witch came out in 1943 and was used through the war and I believe to be the last separate Stevens catalog, on a price list dated March 7, 1946 the No 240 is @ $24.65
In a 1947 combined catalog for Savage, Steven, Fox with price list dated March 25, 1947 the No 240 is not listed but they still list the No 22-410 with Tenite® stock.
Although there were a lot of different model made with Tenite® stocks, both those marked Stevens and various house brands, the No 22-410 the No 240 and No 520 are the only ones with these stocks listed in Steven catalogs.

Yes, as far as I know, but I'll bow to more learned folks. I can see only needing to modify the frame for the twin hammer and trigger mechanism and relocating the top firing pin hole.

I have owned two of them the past, sold both of them to a Savage Rep.that had two teenage boys. They are pretty neat shotguns, but if you tried to pull both hammers back at the same time it took a "LOT" of effort, and I'm not known to be a wimp!! for a gun designed for younger folk, they would have to cock one hammer at a time.

yup I had one awhile back, they're kinda neat but the hammers are a PIA. they're to close together
