Digging through some old photos the other day I came across this one of my paternal grandmother holding her 250 Savage and my mother with Dad's 25-35 Winchester. This would have been their total deer harvest in 1938. Granddad's Model 14 .30 Remington is leaning against the post behind my grandmother.

I am guessing the ladies insisted in going to the house to change clothes before they allowed the picture to be taken. Still...don't see many deer hunters wearing dresses today.

I'd have that framed on the mantle piece, Joe.

My Dad and I hunted the Black Hills a few times back in the '60s.

Remember my Grandpa telling me: "The best place to shoot a deer is where you find one"

Suspect that holds true even today.
