Has anyone ever noted when the milling feature on the side of the receiver (between the receiver bridge and side wall) that is seen in the fourth photo down changed from a round to a v-shaped cut? To me, the round shape is a characteristic of pre-war 99s and the v-shape is characteristic or post war guns. Did that coincide with the change in factories? What's up with that feature?
I happen to prefer the pre-war shape as it always made the receiver look more like a finished product to me.
