I have had this rifle for several years, no alterations EG 22 inch barrel chambered in 303 pretty nice old rifle made before they started checkering the EG. $630 shipped to your ffl or C&R recovers my investment. Your welcome Steve, I see these in 300 mostly a few 303's and I think 1 30-30. I think the pre checkered eg was even offered in 22HP

Correct on the 30 30,s as I have one. Only 99 that I have seen that has the EG markings on the butt stock. Curious is yours marked serial and EG model on the butt stock? GW

It is an EG.. just one with a couple extra features. Like a 99E/S is a 99E, just with a scope.

Behind it is a slight linear dent which appears to add to it but if you look it does not. The bore is bright and shiny like new I tried to get a few pictures of the bore I can email if interested
