How much is this thing worth? in good condition
Posted By: Fireball2 Re: 1952 Model 99 R - 02/18/19
Depends on who's buying, what "good condition" is, and what caliber.

Mint 308 99R $1500+
Mint 300 Savage half that
358? Don't know, never seen one. Approaching $2K?
243? Hahahahahaha, in my dreams. Priceless.
250 Savage <$1K

Pics, laddie, pics, or you will get a lot of meaningless drivel per your request. (Except Roy, he's not meaningless, but note he said "mint" which means exactly as it left the factory and unfired since then.)

A member here sold me a beaut of an early 50's R in 300 for $400.

If the serial starts with a "8" add $10. smile 243,308,358 wouldn't be 1952.

Do you have one you are selling or are you looking to buy? Be careful if you are looking to buy as it’s easy as pie to swap the forearm out on an EG and pass it off as an R. Always check to see if the wood is original to the gun.

That's what I get for posting when I'm tired, thanks squeeler!

A 99R in 300 Savage generally doesn’t sell well. But they are excellent rifles. You can mount a scope on them which is a huge plus in my opinion.

One in 250 Savage is a different ball game.

Depends on the color.
