I have a Savage 99 with the old, hard to see irons. It's not drilled and tapped and I don't plan to do so. What I would like to find is a fiber optic front and rear sight that I can install that will enable me to shoot and hunt with the rifle. Has anyone already done this and if so, what did you use? I had a 358 re-bore set up with a Redfield tang sight and fiber optic hooded front, which was very fast sighting rifle. Sold it to a fellow member who was looking to set up his son with a brush gun. I like tang sights with the hooded front fire sights, as a "ghost ring" sight for my old blurry eyes. I have a 39A and RWS air pistol set up that way

You could mount a scope with a Stith or Lightfoot mount...no holes required.
