I'm sure this has been answered before, but I can't remember what the answer was. Question: Assuming the receiver is the proper type (1955 and later) will a 99 with a 308 barrel feed from a 300 Savage rotor?

Serial number above 900,000 - and the answer is maybe.

Never had a 300 Savage over 900,000 - but easy to test. Load the mag up with 308’s and see if it will load and feed. Just don’t go closing the bolt the whole way, you can cycle the entire mag just closing the bolt halfway.

Thanks for the comeback. After I posted the message I went downstairs and made up three dummy rounds loaded to just over 2.7". I loaded all three in the magazine and they fed just fine. Of course, I couldn't close the action all the way. This 99 has a 1,000,000+ serial number, but I would imagine my 99 made in 1955 would work the same way.

Only if the SN is above 900K.
