New Member on the Campfire - 11/10/19
Hello to all: I just signed up the other day, but first post. I've been reading the Campfire off and on since around the first of the year, always thinking I should register. A lot of good information and friendly members. Anyway live in North Central Iowa, spent most of my working days as a Police Officer (21 yrs) and as a Heavy Equipment Operator (19 yrs), both far from my original goal to be a Veterinarian or Wildlife Biologist after high school. Grew up on a farm, have been hunting, fishing, and shooting since old enough to do so. Gave myself the handle of 'Savage94C' in honor of the old Savage Stevens Model 94C 16 gauge single shot shotgun I've had since the late 60's. Many a Iowa pheasant and rabbits harvested with it. Still have it, use it to dispatch a nuisance starling once in a while. Other Savage's include a WW2 Enfield No4MkI 30/06 and a '29 Model 99G Takedown in 250/3000. Really a beauty, got it with Stith mounts and Weaver 330 scope, a real tack driver with 75-87 grain handloads Hoping to get a 99 in 300 Savage in near future. Reload and shoot a Remington 81 in 300 Savage and really like the caliber. Do a lot of shooting with various other firearms (rifles/handguns), love to reload and cast bullets, but hate case trimming with a passion. Love to collect and shoot MILSURP rifles. My three vices are guns, guitars, and Craftsman tools (at least that's what I always tell people). Anyway, look forward to being on the forum.
