Thanks buddy! Other than washing those blades I hadn't touched them since last week's bear. They were still sharp as s*** and went through that elk hide and meat like sailing through satin. A real pleasure. I actually sent Gene an email right in the middle of it. Ha! They are both passable sharp now but probably due for a touch up

Texted with stonehocker tonight. Phone call tomorrow. Get a couple ordered from him

Ingram hopefully by late winter early spring my number will be called.

Need to get a 16bore. That was love at first sight for me, and would probably get used extensively on birds/squirrels etc.

I’m envious of the knives you guys have

Finally punched my deer tag this morning on this little blacktail. He was eating mushrooms in the dark woods.
Used only the Ingram Liteskinner on him. I love this knife! This is it's third critter in a month, the others a bear and a cow elk. The knife is still moderately sharp.

As longarm mentions I think those are the two he uses most but he has also used S35VN and A2 (and probably others).

Dad (ole_270) shot a doe and 10 miles away I shot a small buck at the same time 30 minutes into the Kansas opener.

Doe had the fat rolling off of her. Buck was pretty lean.

On a cold day that gummy fat really sticks on a knife. One of the reasons I like a fixed blade better than a folder is trying to clean that stuff out of the recesses of a folder is such a pain in the rear.
Posted By: Cheesy Re: Ingram action thread - 12/02/20
Filled a coffee can with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes and it wiped right off. I was going to use a new Great Eastern Cutlery liner lock, but passed for the very reason you stated.
