Thrift shop stone, and steel, under $20.
Steel is great, the blade is past end of life and I suspect the stone is not flat so of minimal value without first working it flat. You asked, I don't mean to come across too negative, just sharing my view.
The stone is one grit, medium fine, wedge shape. The steel is new, the knife is a fillet knife, not in the package.
Knife is likely boning knife from a packing plant.
Around here they come from chicken plants.
Folks will sell them at flea markets. Couple bucks for a used up knife.
Dave, we used to go garage sailing in Storm Lake, a packing house town. Likely it followed a worker home.
For less than $20? You did alright i'd say. Just keep on using them as it looks like they are used to it.
