Now that I have a couple of custom fixed blade knives from some of the great craftsmen on here I want a good frame lock or similar folding knife. I have been carrying a Ken Onion design from CRKT every day and it is a great knife but I am spoiled now. Let’s see some folders with specs and suggestions

These are great but pretty much unobtainium for a long while. In keeping with that trend I recently picked up a few other unobtainum folders that both I, and a ton of other folks highly recommend if you can find one at a reasonable price.

They are:
Three Rivers Manufacturing (TRM) Atom and Neutron 2.
Protech Malibu (I picked up the blue wharncliffe bladed model).

goofy to wait two years for a factory made folder

Your right Sam, forgot about that orange one until I got a email over a year later.. 😂

My website can be a PITA to list knives on so sometimes they just never make it on there . Right now I have some framelocks in on consignment from a collector ,they are nice ,sure seem heavy duty.

I like all kinds of knives obviously ,I buy different folders at times to check m out . But at the end of the ay I mostly carry a slipjoint knife .

The way things are with knives right now ,there's so much available ,so if you're gonna get a knife to carry every day ( EDC) it makes no sense to wait for one to be built . I'd say that's for a collector to do.

The two knives I have by Rocky are in A2 steel ,hollow ground they're listed in the classifieds . I have probably a dozen from Lloyd ,more coming weekly .I also have some small folder by Rick Nowland that are perfect if you work indoors etc.

And a heads up,I still have 2 Miller Chef listed below makers price and a 16 Bore by Mike too. More knives will be listed in a few days too ! Thanks for mentioning me here fella's

Don't wait for a knife to be built ,there's available knives everywhere right now !

Tony Bose ( RIP) the best slipjoint builder in the World IMHO he had a saying ,he'd say ," If you need a lock on a folder ,get a fixed blade "

I always liked those Kabar Dozier folders made in Taiwan for 20 bucks ,good knife for the price I use mine for opening the boxes of incoming knives ,since I don't want glue on the blade of others For $20 a pc you can put a few in different places ,work shop ,truck ,etc

That made me smile.

In a working knife, the nice thing about so many "lock" knives is that they have a stud to open with one hand. I have little need of a lock but I often need to be able to open with one hand.

A lockblade is the knife you carry when you can't carry a real knife... grin

That's going to cost you. Vince posts more knife porn than a normal man can stand.
