Window shopping for a Buck 110, seems they are about $60 across the board except Wally World. They want $35, but it has to be shipped to you so there is no looking at it first hand prior. What are your thoughts???
You don't know what they look like?
If $$$$ is the concern, get one of the synthetic
handle version of the 110
I've had several of those in the 1st generation
Bucklite version and the Selector, and they hold
up just fine. Easier to tote too.
Same blade and configuration as the 110 brass
framed original
I do know what they look like, just wondering if Walmart was selling counterfeit.

Does Buck sell Chinese versions nowadays???
I’d check on Buck’s websight.

The ones Wal-Mart sells are genuine USA made Bucks.
Bought one from Walmart a couple of years ago. Hard to tell it from my other 2, which are so old I do not remember where I got them.
Pretty sure if WalMart was selling counterfeit Buck's that the Buck Knife Company would sue the chit out of them. Order one from the Buck Custom Knife Shop to your spec's and have something authentic and unique.
I order 3 @ $35 a piece. Now I will have a couple spares...maybe birthday presents or trading material. Seems like I found the deal of the day!
The one I have now I got in 72 or 73.
I like the synthetic 110 slim hunters.
Weigh very little. ~$30-35 according to model.

God bless America.

Disclaimer: No slight intended, but my sincere feeling, when I read above post. It just strikes me right to be able to buy a us-made knive at a US-chain retailer for a good price in US dollars.
Walmart has a really crappy website. They can’t decide if they are Walmart or Amazon. Many of the products are actually third party retailers.
I've got both a 110 and a 112 Slim Select. Solid EDC knife, rides deep in the pocket, holds an edge, and made in the USA.
Order one from the custom shop in S30V.
It is still a bargain at about a $100 with a much better blade steel.

Did that earlier this year. One for myself and one for my nephew who just got his Fire Dept placement. Was already EMT and ambulance. Kid works his ass off.
Buck does a great job on those Custom Shop knives.
The ones directly from Walmart are legit. Of note, Buck switched BACK to REAL ebony, a few years back. No more of the “laminated wood”.
If you don’t like ‘em, give them as gifts. The only difference USED to be the sheath. Walmart had a nylon, others had leather. Don’t know if that’s the case, these days.
My latest 110 from the Buck Custom Shop, Buckeye burl, nickle bolsters, S30V...

That’s a great looking Buck !!!
How much did the Custom Shop charge for that one ?
From memory, that's about three years ago and if I'm not mistaken it was about $155 give or take a few dollars. I have had Buck build sambar stag, elk antler, buffalo horn, micarta, G10 and various wood handled 110's over the years with BG42, CPM154 and S30V and never been disappointed with the results. Copper and Clad had some 110's built with brushed aluminum bolsters and red micarta scales with S30V blades that were lightweight and super nice 110's. Those went for under $100 if IIRC.

Nice!
I grabbed up a half dozen of the G-10 S30V Drop Point 110 and 112 for Christmas presents. They were all close to perfect. Very impressed.
On the other hand, I was given that fixed blade from the Custom Shop. Not impressed at all. The ironwood and S30V were a pretty good premium over the base knife and the wood is lackluster at best and the edge visibly uneven and not near sharp. Not my usual experience with the Custom Shop for sure.

Beautiful! I ordered one from the Custom Shop 6/2019. S30V, nickel, stag, no pins, leather sheath. It was $169.60 delivered. Liked that burl a lot too, though!
Local_D, love your elk 110. I gave one nearly identical to that to my son several years ago. It was an older version and has BG42 steel. He has used the heck out of that knife and loves it.
I ordered that same design for my own Christmas present but I added the pins.

Raised my disappointment...told the Custom Shop knives are sold as as is...
Sad...
JM,
sorry to hear your’s did not turn out as hoped for.
I ordered five 110 Slim Pros with linen micarta and S30V for Christmas gifts. Each of the five was meticulously finished with razor edges. They exceeded my expectations.
These new ones from the Custom Shop were the first Buck’s I’ve purchased in years. These killed any older Bucks I’ve owned by a comfortable margin in quality.
Gave me some renewed faith in them.
