A family friend brought this by to see if I knew a value. He thinks he paid ~$150 for it in early 2000’s late 90’s? Anybody know anything about them?

Thanks.

They were from the Craig Colorado area initially. Names were Tom and Steve I think. Your knife was likely made by Steve as Tom's designs were more traditional and so were his scales. The knife you have was made after Steve moved to Loveland. He was pretty prolific with a few shops in the Denver area carrying his knives. I have one made by Tom with a Craig Colorado stamp. I was told they both made knives in Craig and only Steve made knives in Loveland. Don't know the steel used. I believe both of them are gone.

I don't see many of them for sale and they are makers who were well known in Colorado but not so much outside of the state so it is hard to put a value on them. Mine is a 4" blade with very good stag scales and was $80 thirty five years ago. I think something between $150 and $200 today.

I look on eBay to see what stuff sells for. Evidently someone thinks they're worth $1k and another by a relative, I assume, for $150. It all comes down to what someone will pay.

This one by Tom Barminski looks over priced at $150 but then I expect more for my money.

I had a fellow knife maker that knew him. Craig met him at the PKA Show that was held in Denver Colorado. He thought Craig had the nicest finish on his wood handles.

Seems like a quality knife, just not my thing.

He said he bought it in a shop in Durango, so the above makes sense.

Thanks all.
