Well, I’ve had this bad boy for a month or so and finally got the courage to put the edge on it I wanted. My oh my. Screaming sharp and took an edge as easy as rolling outta bed. 600 grit on the KME and to the strop. Now it looks like my arms have alopecia. Hairless.

Rick’s knives are art. They really are. I love to just fondle this thing.

This one is for my son, and I got a full sized Dumplin for myself too.

Honestly can’t figure out which I like better.

Gonna have to try and wear em out to come to a verdict.

I just know that dealing with Rick is a pleasure.

Looking forward to the next order!

I agree. Ricks work is art.

Those scales the Polish elevator rollers?

Very nice!!
No, those scales are stabilized and black dyed, black ash burl.
Purty! Parsons sheath ain't shabby either.
Salvageable at best.

Not the knife, me, after I feel out the chair when I saw it.
I'm a novice of sorts and will probably continue to be served by production knives - that's just were I am in the knife game (for now). BUT MAN...even on just website pictures this knife speaks to me. I could only imagine what it's like in-person an in the hand. Really an awesome looking piece! Thanks for sharing.

Question - where does one get one of those lanyard things that tie onto the back of the knife? Yours is very cool.
The lanyard is black paracord and an antler bead. You can put one of those together yourself in about 180 seconds.

Sorry that i was mistaken.

Very nice indeed!
What are the dimensions on that? Very nice. The red liners make the scales pop.
Mighty fine!

Enjoy!

Glad you posted up more pics of this, buddy. Absolutely beautiful. Should take care of just about anything.
BTW are you and the boy still getting after geese, or is it a wrap for the year? We have one last season opening Feb 4 - Mar 10.
Our geese bugger off when the snow flies, so November. There is a local cooling pond that ducks still winter on. I hunted that at end of November with my buddy and his dog. I won’t put my dog in freezing water and then have them come out in freezing temps. Too risky. My training partner did the same hunt last year, and his dog came outta the water, ran toward him and collapsed. Thankfully, they dried her off, wrapped jackets around her, and got her to the truck where she came round. She was wearing her vest and a sugar coat on top. Couldn’t be more prepared. No duck in the world is worth that to me. Hope your season is going stellar!
Wow just wow, also love that sheath! I have one of Rick's back pocket folder, I'm afraid to use it!
Great looking knife!
you won't hurt that knife by using it. I have worked my Menefee drop point like a red headed step child, and it's as pretty as the day I got it.

It's made for use. I have a Menefee Trapper folder that I use like a folding bird & trout knife. It has cleaned and skinned a lot of small game, doves, bobcats, coyotes, sliced up apples and deer sausage for lunch, made toothpicks and whatever I needed done that day. It still looks good, is tight and solid and I have a fondness for it based on experiences with it. Use that Menefee and enjoy it!

Weren't you guys hunting over a black Lab? I had one of my chocolates out yesterday in the ice water for most of the day. Doesn't get cold here like it does at your place though.
Had a crap duck season, worst one ever. Water too low for my boat, then I caught that stupid RSV virus for three weeks of coughing and hacking, then ran out of time. We do have one more goose season coming though, as I mentioned, and I'm hoping to redeem myself in the eyes of my dog..
Did I miss the pics of the Dumplin?
Nice looking knife for sure.
Beautiful knife. A2 or CPM 154?
