A friend called and wanted to give a couple of guys, that were going to be stationed overseas, a combat knife. His son is carrying one like these every time he goes to the field. He wants them to have one just like his sons knife. Although semi retired (not taking orders anymore), this is what my brother (348srfun) and I do.

Those look like very capable knives. Kinda purty too! Back I. The sixties, I sent both of my brothers off to SE Asia with Randall #1 knives. They still have them.

Mannlicher, the knives have been very well received. Years ago, we asked for help from a Ranger, that was being deployed to Afghanistan, to design a knife that was sturdy, sharp, practical to carry and one that would be accepted as a piece of equipment that was ok to carry. We have been making the same model for years. They have been accepted for use in every branch of service. The only question we have heard of was from a Marine that was told he could carry the Twin Blades knife, but if he was asked for a knife, he had better hand over the one he was issued!

I really appreciate the comments on these knives! The guys that they were sent to really appreciated the gift from their uncle. I wish I could put a price on this knife, but My brother and I (formally making knives as Twin Blades) have retired from knife making. Neither of us has totally quit, but we found that at our age we would rather spend the time with grandchildren, hunting and fishing. Just not taking any orders....

I used to see ads of Twin Blades in certain publications. From Statesboro, right? Tried to look you up one time while in town, I have lots of kinfolks there. I'm in Waycross. Great work!

Our shop is about halfway between Metter and Statesboro.
Part of me is glad I retired and part of me could start back making knives full time tomorrow. I met some of the best people in the knife business and enjoyed every minute.

Not sure how old you are, but I just rolled up 79 a couple days ago and I am
beginning to acquire similar feelings about making knives. But I have never been
full time at it.
