I have been wanting and finally picked up.

Old school cool with:

1095 blades
nickel steel liners
Norway steel bolsters
Rosewood, ebony, or bone scales
Original Gowanda NY or Titusville, PA tangstamps
NO billboards on blades

Built to same specs as 1903-1908 S&M catalog knives:

Very Nice!
Excellent!
great knives. Did you buy the set?
I bought the rosewood spear point in the top pic, Rick.

I really like the ebony clip point as well.

I did however just find a great deal on the whole set and would love to buy them all.

I plan on throwing a coat of Ren Wax on the wood and carrying it. Not just sticking in a drawer. If I buy whole set, I'll end up just tucking them away with all the rest.

I may just blacken up the blade a bit, not sure. What do you think? A little forced patina, or leave it alone?
I stick a little white vinegar in microwave for 20 seconds and dip blade in it for a few mins.
I would have one in a shot if they did not feature those rotten half-stops.

I like em both but natural's got more soul.
Use it on some onions and/or citrus and it'll darken up in a hurry.

I'd still like to see one of those two blade models with a bottle opener. wink
I like cold blue, believe it gives the knife a richer look but then that's just my opinion.

And, excellent pattern, nicely rounded edges so it should carry well, plus a spear point is so handy.
