Tell me more about the bottom one. Looks like a Chukar. Dimensions?

The more I look at those 6.5 Mags, the more I like em'. It's a really nice and practical design. And I really like the blade profile on the semi skinner too. Those are all very nice.

The bottom is more like a slim model just abit wider and has a little contour to handle it feels incredible in your hand, the original model had a little longer blade, i had him cut back to 3.25 and has a 4.25 handle, thanks.

If you're old like me you can remember the intro to the "Beverly Hillbillies" TV show. Started somthing like this "

"Let me tell you a story about a man named Jed
Poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed"

Well let me tell you a story about a man named Jamie. Somehow I don't think he's a poor mountaineer, but what the hey....

In fact if I were to start a thread I'd actually title it
"Two great guys and a flawless blade."

Those two guys would be Jamie Morrison and Gene Ingram.

The blade would be the 6.5 Mag that Jamie, cajoled Gene into making for me on short notice.

The tale has been too long coming, and for that I apologize.

So here goes.

Over the last two years I’ve been fortunate enough to purchase several knives that Jamie decided to part with.In fact we’ve now had several phone conversations and talk aobut enthusiasm…..
IIRC, back around June or July last year, Jamie posted up a pix of one of Gene’s knives. I think is was a semi-skinny. I luv that blade shape, but what really caught my attention was the Jade green G-10 scales.
Over the next two months I mentioned several times to Jamie that if he ever decided to part with that “Jade Ingram”, to let me know. Well I guess he got tired of me bugging him. He contacted Gene Ingram and told him his dilemma, (he had a no-account Texican that would not quit bugging him about a certain knife).

Evidently Gene and Jamie are friends. Next thing I know, Jamie contacts me and tells me to give Mr. Ingram a call.

I did and explained my side of the story. Evidently Jamie had told Gene his side. After a short conversation Gene sez’, Geedub, I’d be happy to make you a knife. I just happen to have a set of scales and a proto-type blade here in the shop. I’ll have it ready and shipped in a couple weeks. I was blown away. Two weeks for an Ingram!!

Sure enough, about two weeks later I got a package from Gene Ingram. The 6.5 mag knife was in the package

Just in time for opening weekend of rifle season.

So here is a shout out to two great guys and a flawless blade.

GWB

PS: Jamie, if you ever decide to part with that Jade Ingram pictured in your post above……………………(hint)

That jade green G-10 seems t have a translucency to a degree. I like it. How does it turn out when it's been jigged and beaded....?
Posted By: INTHEMTNS Re: Ingrams. - 02/14/15
I am not 100% i asked Gene about it and he figured it would hold most of the color shown similar to his orange colored G-10 jigged and beaded, i know the color is really effected with the color liners you use, you might need to order one to see... lol

mine are a different Jade G10, more than just the liners would make I believe, but knife #2, 3, and 4 are Jade and #4 is jigged/beaded.

It looks like the same jade G-10 that INTHEMTNS posted. Maybe the material looks different under different lighting conditions. What color of liners did you get on your jade G-10 knives...? Your jigged and beaded one looks pretty darn good to me.

Thumbs-up to all of them!

This new jade which he calls it does have alot different color then the normal Jade color, not sure what type of treatment he does to get that color but i know i have seen Jade with different colored liners and it changes the color drastically, but all cool.

Posted By: INTHEMTNS Re: Ingrams. - 02/15/15
You need to stop posting that pic of all those Ingrams, your a bad influence on my already expensive hobby! Lol
Posted By: toad Re: Ingrams. - 02/15/15
I kind of doubt your pile of Ingrams is jealous of mine. smile
Posted By: INTHEMTNS Re: Ingrams. - 02/15/15
You have a beautiful collection any guy would love to own.

Love that top one you posted. The 6.5 mag with the black carbon fiber! If you ever decide to dump that one, let me know.

This thread just convinced me to buy another Ingram. Just bought a #10DP and also in the book for a future one. Thinking boner.
