Gene and David rolled this up to help a fellow knife maker out who was injured in a hunting accident a while ago. Ken designed the knife and made the leather pouch and lanyard bead. Gene and David both made the knives. This has been a tremendous team effort from all three makers to help Ken get back on his feet. Any and all support will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks Guys!
Check out Ken's Website

How do we buy one? Awesome knife.
Yeah, how do we get one??
Sure would be nice to have one of those
Sounds like a good cause too
Both maker stamps on the same knife? Yeah, I'd like one too.
How to get one seems to be the million dollar question...
How to get one seems to be the million dollar question...
Same question from me so make that a million and one dollar.
Hey guys, call David or Gene for details on this knife.
Thanks.
This is a very nice thing these men are doing to help their friend. What a horrible tragedy,I hope things improve for him. That is a gorgeous knife.

What happened to Ken Honeycutt??
L.W.
He was shot in the pelvis with a high powered rifle while deer hunting.
All I really know.....
Thanks for the information. I'm sorry to hear that. Hope he recovers as soon as possible.
L.W.
Ken has some nice knives for sale on his website.
Just some thoughts. I know he would appreciate anyone who helped out!
He learned from both David and Gene, his knives look solid. Give him a shout and Happy New Year!
I would like to give a very special thanks to Mr. David Winston and Gene Ingram for this project! It isn't very often you will find someone that will go out of their way and put forth this much work and time to help someone else. I started aggravating Mr. Winston in the mid 90's and it seems like every time I see him I learn something new. On occasion when I miss the lesson (my fault I'm sure) I pick it or something else up from Mr. Ingram. David and Gene (if I may) are two fine gentlemen and excellent knife makers!
I would also like to thank Mr. ATROX for the post!
Ken Honeycutt
P.S.
I'm still on this side of the dirt!!!! and digging for ore to make KNIVES!!!
Great Thread ATROX! Love to hear cool stories of everyone helping...
Welcome Ken and here's to a quick recovery.
Great knife and beautiful leatherwork Ken. Now I know where David's been getting those great sheaths I've been seeing lately.
Sorry to hear about your accident Ken. I hope you make a full recovery. I will keep an eye on your site and plan on eventually ordering something.
Terry
Thanks for the support guys!
Ken would you be interested in a group buy knife build? Good way to introduce a new model. Just a thought. I am sure it would be well received here.

I like your thinking!
Jeez. Give the guy time to heal up first.....
I would be glad to do a group knife build. Just let me know what you guys want.
No order to small or to big.
Thanks!
Something like Ingram's kingfisher as thin as you'd be willin to make it. Westinghouse handles stainless pens red liners.
Welcome and get well soon.
^^^Sounds good to me. I like the looks of his Model 33 as well.
Well wishes for you Mr. Honeycutt. David told me briefly about the project he and Gene were working on sometime back.
Friends like that are true treasures.
All the best for a quick and full recovery.
I wouldn't mind something like Winstons #43

Mr Ken well played!.....grin. You know by the time a bunch of knife guys decide on which model we want you'll be back to 100%. Kidding a little but a little truth to it too....haha.
Happy new year guys

Now we're thinking!
I'll throw Mr. Honeycutt's Model 40 in the mix for a group buy recommendation, I like the look of it.
Hope you heal up quickly and completely Mr. Honeycutt.
I think Ken's model 33 would be my choice. Looks like a useful hunter or general blade.
Saw this thread & I thought it would behoove me to own one of Mr. Honeycutt's fine blades.
I'm absolutely queer for Cocobolo and when I saw this one on his website, I had to have it.
Appropriate name. Its a honey
and it should cut like nobody's business, as it is scary sharp.
Beautiful grind. Excellent fit and finish.
Simply elegant.
Be a week or so before I get to try it out.
Thank you sir!
JAPPFT,
GWB

I guess y'all just read part of the thread. He agreed to a group buy and asked what we wanted. So he got a different answer from each person.

that would be good for me!
No,
it don't quell the symptoms of SDD (shooting deficit disorder) quite as good as perforating..............
and skinning hoglets,
But fondlin' a sweet blade and grillin' some pork is a darn sight better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. LOL
Thanks for a sweet one KH. Much obliged.
JAPPFT,
GWB
Geedub, great pics as always.
Nice knife.
Great thread full of awesome knives & pics. I'm liking it!
Here is the model 15!
I like this little knife Ken,nice work
And some others in the works!
What's the far right knife ?
And some others in the works!
What's the far right knife ?
Go ahead and give up #'s for all of them. I like more than one of them....
the one on the far left is a model # 21, that's the one in the mail to me as we speak. Ken ball milled the black pins on the knife, it looks really cool. Something different.
Ken also used .110 S30V stock, he'll make them thin if you ask. His knives are solid, this will be my second knife from Ken. Also, this jade G10 has moon glow liners, makes it look cool at night in the dark. Let me know what you boys think.
ya!
I think I can't wait for the next installment!!!
Best,
GWB
From L to R. 21, 25 (new), 33, 50(new).
Thanks!
I'm thinking a set,
Say a 25 and a 50
Desert Ironwood scales
Mosaic pins
Black liners
S30v steel
And one of Ken's fine Combo sheaths.
Ya'
That would be the ticket!!!
GWB

Ken,
Great knives!
Do you have something like the #21 with a 3 1/2" blade?
Thanks
Not currently but would be glad to throw it on the design table.

I'ma working on it Geedubya.
looks like Ken has a model 33 available on the blademakers.com site

It's a nice looking piece of cutlery. I see a lot of Winston in that design, and a lot of Ken too.

No doubt
Like the way he jigs just in between the pins. Those milled pins are cool also
I agree Big Dave, those milled pins are way cool!
I like the black handle/pin combo. I have that coming on my next Winston, I thought I was the first to think of it!
that is very nice!
GWB is going to love those.
Freaking awesome & gorgeous too !! Nice Ken. GW ,can't wait for the pics
Thanks a lot guys. I enjoyed making them. Hope GW got to test them out this weekend.
Ken is about to start one for me. Kens gonna modify the #50 pattern a little and try to put a little flex in it for me. I told him he could grind it as thin as he was comfortable with. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I'm sure it will be nice, judging by everything else if seen on here.

it will be nice!
there are some great knives coming out of that area of Mississippi
I'm kinda new to the custom knife thing, as well as the campfire, but I can see already where this knife thing can get addictive, sure are a lot of great makers on the fire.
Thanks a lot guys. I enjoyed making them. Hope GW got to test them out this weekend.
Well I didn't wear them out but I did get to play a bit.

GWB,
I believe your set is not the gallery picture for his example knives. Beautiful set.
Frank
Haven't posted anything in a while. Figured I would through a few on.
Honeycutt

Thanks mtnman1. Good looking stuff you make
Honeycutt
thanks vince. just a beginner but hope to get there
Honeycutt
What do you get when you combine a nasty, rainy Friday afternoon with a Remember Golidad Doppelbock and a mighty fine Ken Honeycutt "Dorado".............
A good start on a batch of jerky!!!
JAPPFT,
GWB
Great looking knives Ken!!
Thanks Gee and Wilbilly. Bet that jerky is going to be good.
Here is my Dorado from Mr.Ken I have never posted a pic since I received it. Thanks Ken I really like it.
*That* is a nice one...! Love the ergonomics of the blade and handle.
A while back, IIRC, Ken featured a pix of a model 50, I think it was, with green buckeye burl scales. I only have one other blade with buckeye burl and so I contacted him and asked him to do one for me with the green buckeye burl. After I received the knife I inquired in regards to the "Dorado" label versus the model 50 label. He indicated that he'd named that model the "Dorado" as the heel of the handle reminded him of the head of a Dorado fish.
Ya', I can see that.
Anyway, like all Ken's stuff this one is mighty fine in its execution and has a sharp toothy edge. Made short work of the silverskin on the beef tenderloin, not to mention the meat slicing capabilities.
Anywho, a couple more pix of the whole enchilada.......
and what a guy,
I mentioned that with knives this sharp, I usually nick myself sooner or later.
not only did Ken send me a band-aid, but included another for sensitive just in case I might be delicate.
Yup, give a little more than what's expected and you'll always have biz.
Thanx Ken
Best,
GWB
I'm really liking that black buckeye flame!! Might need to get in touch with Ken and see what he can come up with:)
Nice knife Gee. Whats the length?
Brett,
I make it at 9" overall.
4.265" blade length, give or take a skosh.
JAPPFT,
GWB
Really good looking knife. That's thin blade stock, is it long enough to have a bit of flex? Bet that's a slicing son of a gun.
RE: the group buy. I'm in for 2 if it is the model 21. Either 1/8 S30V tapered tang with beaded black linen and red liners, or 3/32 S30V with say...black/silver shred Carbon Fiber...?
Very nice GEE!! Those scales are cool!
Journeyman, be glad to make you a group of two. Holler at me sometime and we can work out the details.
Wish I had some more of that green buckeye! Nice stuff!
Thanks,
Honeycutt
Excellent, Ken. Shot you a PM...
FYI Geedub and Wilbilly, you're knives tested 60 on hardness. Forgot to put it on card.
