A buddy stopped by to visit today, and gifted me with this neat old Coricama knife. Italian, pre WWII, I believe.
It cleaned up good, and I rigged a lanyard so as to not drop it over board. smile

this has to set a record for the most 'I don't give a chit' thread in 'fire history. Laughing.
It is one heck of a good knife, and it's going to my son, who sails often, and owns boats.

thanks! A mercy response. <wink> laughing. smile

Good sharp sheephead blade, a seam ripper blade and a marlin spike. Old too, probably about 70 years old.

Seventy doesn't sound as old as it used to.

Buddies dad had something similar. He retired from sub duty in the 1970's. Don't think that seam ripper would have cut his sail.

the fellow that gifted me with this one carried a Camillus sailor knife in the Navy. He retired as Chief of Boat on boomer boats. His did not have the seem ripper blade either, just the marlin spike and the one blade.

I don't like Coricama knives and have no use for 'sailor' knives.
