Thinking of one of their Fieldcraft knives. Thoughts?

I'd rather have an ESEE knife for field use, and one of my customs over those.

ESSE 4 would be hard to beat as a general use woodcraft knife.

I have both ESSE and TOPS. Quality is the same steel is the same, handle material is the same, features are different. It depends on what you prefer in a blade style, handle style and grind. I like the TOPS better. Blade length is the same, but the handles on the ESSE knives are a bit slab sided and short while the TOPS knife is more rounded and feels better in my hand.

For a little less I actually like this better than the ESSE

The blade is almost identical to the ESSE 4, but with longer more comfortable handle. The RAT 5 is very similar, but with a slightly shorter, but much thicker blade. Too thick in my opinion.

I dig that TOPS Hunter ... Ended up getting the Fieldcraft. So far so good, but it hasnt made it into the field.
