Was wondering if anyone here has a Scott Cook? I always liked his work.

Seen a couple on BF but never handled one. Beautiful knives.

Had one years ago. A Small Owyhee Hunter in BG42, snakewood scales. Wonderful knife, one of those I wish I had back.

Had one. Great knife. Mine was the Sebenza lookalike.

I regret selling mine as well. I have been meaning to pick up another. I would like to get a Lochsa too.

Very nice Journeyman. That looks like an older one. I had the same pin locations. The newer ones I have seen are more conventional.

I wasn't aware he was still making knives?

I think he is focusing more on folders now but as far as I know he is still at it.

I have had a Small Owyhee Hunter for 15 years or so. I would rate it as one of the top 5 knives (out of 40+/- customs) that I have ever used on game. It could easily be my only knife. But what's the fun in that?

Not my photograph, but my Small Owyhee was like this. It was one of the first customs I owned. I had read that Snakewood was easy to break and I really pampered the knife. About that time I also bought a Bob Dozier K2 Hunter with green micarta and it was tough enough to take hunting. I ended up not using the Cook knife and eventually sold it. Regrets...

I have never been impressed by Dozier's knives. They are decent and functional, but to me are soulless.

I understand what you're saying. Dozier knives are intentionally "no-frills" but when it comes to "using knives" they are at the top of the heap. To me there is an attractiveness to pure functionality. I do like a pretty knife, too. That is, as long as it's SHARP! Like, for instance, the Small Owyhee pictured above.

Dozier ergonomics are spot on, heat treatment is legendary as are the grinds. Dozier knives work and they cut. The finish is pretty basic and no frills.

I have a lot of no frills knives that are head and shoulders above Dozier's. As for legendary heat treat, not even close. They are definitely a useable knife but beyond that would be stretching things.

I never said that. I just said they don't impress me. They are a useable knife no doubt.

Holy crap, I just looked back...you're right, 2003 on that one. Can't keep up with them all, but I was kinda' gobsmacked by that!
