classics.

really like the handle/guard combo on the model 1
Posted By: Boise Re: Two New Randall's - 01/14/20
Obviously you like them both or you wouldn't have put out the cash. I prefer the model 1. How heavy are they?

It turned out even better than I'd thought.
Posted By: Dude270 Re: Two New Randall's - 01/14/20
I've got a border patrol handle on my #1 but a nickel silver double guard.

Kinda wish I had a single now.

Good picks

Those are dang fine blades Flave...

Now you need a 1911 to offset the weight of all that steel. They look born of the same era.

I haven't weighed them.

The #1 feels like a feather.

The 18 has some heft but very balanced.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the double.

I'd still only have one tool on the belt that actually works.

The one on the bottom has to be held to be believed.

I honestly ordered it as a goof. But it's pretty fugkin' cool.

Very nice deflave! I got me one of those fancy Randall's too. I did a wrap on my handle.

Sweet!!
My wife used her inherited #11 3-1/4" on her elk and deer this year, and got me fired up to order another one or more than one...!!!

This was my first. I cut up a lot of critters with it.

Nice 19... The 19 was the second one I ever purchased... Great knives... I just purchased a new 12-9 with 14 grind and made to look like a standard 14 except for a single hilt... made it more of a very large camp knife look
Posted By: deflave Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
Thank you.
Posted By: BillyGoatGruff Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
Man, that #1 is exactly what I'd order. That thing is sweet as hell.

Actually, can't say I've ever seen a Randall that sucked.
Posted By: deflave Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
They're made from real panther parts, so you know they're good.
Posted By: ScottBrad Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
What's the handle material on the #1?
Posted By: deflave Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
Green Micarta.
Posted By: ScottBrad Re: Two New Randall's - 01/15/20
Roger that, thanks

deflave,

you and a few others gave me the nudge to try Randalls a year or two ago.

Now I have six and cannot decide whether to thank you or curse you! lol. smile

Seriously, I have really enjoyed them and have been using a Model 25 for cleaning deer and pigs this season and really enjoy it.

MCH,

how did you make that spiral pattern on the wrap?

Pretty tough to lose money on one so I'll go ahead and say you're doing well.

Carried it in Desert Shield/Storm, Somalia, and stick a few pigs with it when I lived in Hawaii.

I did that about 30 years ago. It was in a book in my high school library. Do those still exist? smile

It's not Stainless?

I’ve always liked the looks of Randall’s.

Never held one. What’s the blade thickness? Looks hefty.
I'll give it a check
.222 at the hilt and .199 at the bevel of the tip.

Was adequate sticking pigs but I would prefer a little longer blade length and no serrations. But it was not designed to be a dedicated pig sticker.

With those dimensions I assumed this was the kids forum.

When I opened this thread as gazed upon Flave's fabulous Randalls, I was overcome with jealousy and green with envy! I knew than that my life wouldn't be complete until I had a Randall/Rambo knife of my own!

The search began... I was not going to let a little obstacle like a 5 yr wait deter me... hell no!

As luck would have it I was buying a few chinese tools at the local outlet store and lo & behold , a Randall/Rambo knife! to say I was excited was a understatement, what are the odds?

BEHOLD......... in all it's glory my very own Randall/Rambo knife, my life is complete.... eat your heart out Flave...... and bitches.....
