Went over and bullshitted my ol elk huntin pard yesterday. He’s a busted up old cutter, (62), old growth rolled over him several years and broke his back. Anyhow, he’s got a barn full of cool old stuff, I drink beer, he shows me stuff and tells stories about the good ol days. Yesterday he pulled this out and gave it to me. I just so happened to have a new hickory handle for it hangin in some elk horns back home in the shop. Turned out perty good, little more polishing then sharpen er up. Never heard of the brand, have to look it up.

Gamble's was a hardware store IIRC............

My dad remembers a double 16 that was marked Gamble's Ace................. not sure which of my cousins ended up with that one............

Yes, Gambles was a hardware store franchise.

I've got a couple old axe heads but new handles are $30+ so I've held back.
