I scored 500 165gr interbonds for less than SGK money. I hadn’t planned on 165s but figured I could practice a lot more than I did with 150gr Accubonds seeing as they were so cheap.
Seated long above a healthy charge of RL17, I can hold MOA out to 400yds shooting from a pack in the field. Drops indicate 2,900fps
At 400yds the bullet should be doing 2,100fps - what is the minimum expansion velocity?
Deer will weigh from 160 - 260lbs
You may want to check out Hornady's web sight.
I did - can’t see anything l
email them

I am thinking 1800 fps if I remember correctly.
Use their App....assuming these are .308 caliber...if so, muzzle velocity range on the app is 2200-3400 fps
Per Chuck Hawks... 2000 fps

The minimum recommended impact velocity is 2000 fps to initiate expansion and maximum recommended impact velocity is 3400 fps. Judging by photos in the Hornady catalog, 2700 fps produces good expansion.

I shot a 200+ whitetail with a 30-06 using the 165 grain interbond. The shot was 177 yards and the deer went down immediately. I really think it's too much for a whitetail and would be a perfect elk round but it will work on either with no issues.
I have a fantastic load with 154gn interbonds in my 280 remington. They really surprised me.

On paper, the 2000fps minimum gets me to 550 with 1400 ft-lbs energy. I am north of 1500 ft-lbs at 500. It seems like a sweetheart.
Thx - I’ll e mail them

I agree they overkill for deer but I found 500 for Sierra money so that’s double the practice compared to the 150gr ABs I had
I have used the 270 & 7mm 140s with great results. I think they are slightly softer than an Accubond and expand a little wider. More like a ballistic tip. 2,000 fps seems like a sensible minimum velocity. I think you would get some expansion at lower velocities but maybe not full performance.

A local shop was clearing out all reloading components at 30% off, a clerk had miss marked the Interbonds at 30% off the SST price, I loaded up and did not inform them of the discrepancy, since I already will end up in the hot place for the rest of eternity, at least I should get a good deal once in awhile.
