Anybody carry one of these as an alternative to a small daypack?
I use one for my man purse. It ain't comfortable to carry but it is handy...Keeps the extra "stuff" in order inside the truck.
I used a Maxpedition Devildog versipack for several years without complaint. It was well made and durable as hell.

At the time I was used to wearing a heavy tool belt so the pack around my waist wasn’t an issue. Now the extra weight on the hips gets to be a little more tiring.

Why not a pack?

Evenly distributed weight>lopsided all day, every day.

I have a fanny pack I use as a possibles bag sometimes. If I need more space, it's time for a day pack for me.
Too heavy up front for me - I drag around my little Kifaru E&E to stay organized
I’ve got a couple maxpedition packs, a sling pack and the jumbo Versipack. Handy to keep stocked for hunting and just grab and go. I like to hunt light and when not far it just stays in the vehicle. Water, wipes, toilet paper, first aid kit, knife, extra ammo etc.
The material the pack is made of is very stiff and noisy in brush but well made.
For longer day treks away from the vehicle I find it more comfortable than any type of back pack, especially if it’s hot weather. For me there are more +’s than -‘s with this pack.
I had a Maxpedition day pack. Don't know the model. Great heavy duty fabric but the crappy zippers failed. This happened to my sons' identical pack. I wont buy another one. Maxpedition would not repair it even though I was willing to pay the cost. Ended up getting it done at a shoe repair shop. Both ended up in the trash.
