Hasn't been a good year for hunting for me. I ate my antelope tag because I wanted a good one, or something weird. All we seen were average bucks. Elk was a bust, as I hadta cancel my trip due to the pup getting parvo. I also drew a Late Plains deer tag. With the ongoing drought here, there just wasn't the deer, or the horn size around. My first season guys killed a couple fair bucks, and I've seen some about the same. Only seen 3 real nice bucks this year, and two of them were 30" velvet bucks back in August. Nothing great on the ranch, and I bet I seen every buck multiple times. So, this morning I hit the neighbors place and seen a pair that warranted a better look. I put them to bed and planned a stalk. It didn't work out like I planned, as the does would have blown me as I had to go thru them to even see the bucks. I backed out and went to the ridge I originally seen them from. From there I could only see one of them hidden in the yuccas. As soon as I shot him in his bed, the bigger one jumped up and ran over the ridge with the does. He is a little smaller than I'd prefer, but has lots of character with a couple busted points. And I'm damn glad I took him.....

Well done...even the pup looks pleased.
That’s a studd to some of us. Great buck huntsman! Grats!
Ain't a damn thing wrong with that buck. Better than my mule deer tag soup this year.

I must say though: you should have just let the does blow you.

You had to see that one headed your way...
Looks like a Great Buck to me Hunts! Congrads.
Nice Mule Deer.
What's the rifle and scope you have there?
Nice deers HM

Um, how much bigger was the "bigger" one?

And how do you liked the Omega on the 6.5?
A little heavier and wider, maybe 28", but not as tall, typical 4 point

No good wenches here, this is a low-budget come-along operation......grin

Beautiful buck Don. Congratulations!
That buck does have a lot of character. Congrats !

Last year when I hunted a drawn Mule deer hunt in Texas, the biologist said that the bucks antlers were 10% smaller because of the draught.
That’s a really cool buck!
Dandy buck, Don! Congrats!

BTW, I took this on our KS journey.
My dad inquired "What it in the hell are you doing taking a photo of that?"......

"It's for huntsman22, pops".... laugh

They did on the 21st. So on the 22nd, I bought 3 more cans. We'll see if it really is 90 days like they're claiming.....
Still a great buck Huntsman. Congrats. My season has pretty much sucked too.
Nice deer Don, how's the pup doing?
She recovered into her normal, red hellion self. Yours?
Nice buck! Thats a trophy around these parts. Wish I could settle for such a small buck.
