Any of you guys ever use Sierra 55spbt 1365’s on deer sized game?

I’ve used 55 and 60gr hornady bullets on deer with fine results but never the sierras.

Thx. Ben

We have killed a lot of deer with em. 223, 22-250 & the Swift. Kills em like lightning hit em.

Out of the 223 they may travel but not very far at all, under 50 yards and normally half of that. With the hotter 22 calibers maybe 10 yards max.

They work great.

I don't think they are as stout as the hornady but like 10ga said, they kill like lightning.

Thanks guys. Are you shooting behind the shoulder for lung shots?

I just got a Rem M 7 for my mom to shoot coyotes out her back door. I was planning on 50 BT’s but then she said she would like to use it for an occasional deer as well. I’ve got a pretty good supply of the 1365’s but only a hundred or so hornady’s.

I've only used it tight behind the shoulder and in the neck.

Pretty sure 10ga is a shoulder shooter so hopefully he will chime in

I never grow tired of the dramatic reaction of a deer neck shot with a 22-250 and the 55 gr Sierra.

I bet that is something

I’ve used 60 grain Interlocks out of a 22-250. The deer dropped right there. The bullet placement was between the eyes. Not a tough shot range was about 20’.

It's a thing of beauty

If a 223 and a small deer or if it is over 100 yards you can get em through at least the on side shoulder.

Hot .22s, go for lungs.

I wouldn't be scared to try for high forward with any of the .22 calibers for an instant kill.

I wasn't using the high forward at the time we were shooting the Sierra w regularity. Since then I have started hunting thick creek bottoms so shot placement was adjusted for instant kills.

Never used that bullet , see no reason not to . I use the Winchester 64 grain Power Point in my Ruger 22-250 with great success.

I have heard some complain of accuracy issues with Winchester's 64 grain PP. I have some but have never used them on game. Are you satisfied with the accuracy you're getting?

Twist rates, barrel length (M7). and cartridge type all have a say.

I’ve never killed a deer with a .22 caliber, but have shot dozens and dozens of pigs. Kills hell out of them
