I am heading up to the NE corner of Wyoming with my daughter this Friday. It will be her first deer hunt. Loads for her rifle are worked up thanks due to some great guys here on the CF that helped with my search for bullets. I really appreciate it guys!

My question is about the deer population in Region A. I understand that the gnat problem hit the area pretty hard and the population may have take a hit but, how bad?

Does anyone have any boots on the ground intel about this?

I'll tell ya, we are both really excited to get out there and if we never shot a deer it would still be a high quality trip.

Thanks for any thoughts...

I just spent a week hunting in Sundance. Deer population is probably down a bit but still ok numbers. We actually saw several shooters but were waiting out on big deer, and came home empty handed. The weather didn’t help much being hot or windy most of the days.

Thats pretty good news. Appreciate the info!
We have some weather coming end of the week, be prepared for cold and snow.

Good luck !!
Cold and snow might trigger some rut activity.... One year in this spot went wild with a light snow storm that rolled though. Would love to see that again!

Thanks!
Negative side: Numbers are way down in most of the places. The weather will help but there aren't near as many deer there now as there were.

Positive side: You only need one.....

Good luck!
My brother and I are headed up there in the morning. I’ve hunted it a lot, and killed a lot of bucks there. The last two years have been poor due to weather, and population decline from EHD. The current weather has me pretty optimistic.
