Bought some in 308 by accident, usually use power point. Anybody used the black ballistic tip extreme point? If so what results did you get?
Cousin uses the 90 grain variation in his 243. Kills deer about as good as another SP when hit correctly.

My family shoots them in a 20” .308 that loves them for accuracy. I shot several deer and hogs and found the black tips to be quick-expanding. These were not high on penetration, but killed well. Stuff never ran very far. Don’t expect exits on tough angles and you’ll be fine.

I've shot several whitetails with them in 243, 6.5 CM, 270, 308, and 30-06. Performance wise they seem about the same as BTs and SSTs, rapid expansion, limited penetration, good bullets for a lung shooter like me. The bullets that I've found were imbedded in the off-side rib cage or under the skin on the off-side. Not much blood trail to speak of, if that is important to you.
I believe I'll stick with the power points. Thanks guys
The old silver tips were good rounds. Sure miss them.
