Has anyone use Norma tip strike ammo/ bullets?

I am specifically looking at the 140 GR 6.5 creedmoor

I really don’t know about them and not sure if they make that bullet or rename another brand of bullet and load it

Bottom line is it a good hunting bullet for deer?
Any real life experience?

Thanks Hank

It looks like the non-bonded version of their BondStrike. I used the 143 gr. 6.5 BondStrike on 2 cow Elk this last season w/o problems. 1 was about 400 lb on the hoof, the other about as big as they get ~500 lb.

On deer? I seriously doubt you'd have a problem, along with all the usual proviso's...

The whitetail Norma 6.5 is a decent deer bullet for the money. My buddy shot this big central Kansas buck with at about 220 yards. He shot it broadside, only concern for me was it didn’t exit, basically just found the cup, but he fellafter about a 50 yd run. I bought the ammo for him and Accuracy was great with it in his Savage 110. In sale I got it for 16 bucks a box shipped free from Norma, can’t beat that. It has a crappy BC and with the performance on this deer I would say it is a 300 yd and in for whitetail or less animal.

I never tried the tip strike but I guess it is a step up in performance from the whitetail.

I use the 143 Norma bondstrike for everything out of my losermoor. It has an insane .679 g1 and .313 g7. Shot some pigs with it in the 150 ish range. Complete pass through, even on a double shoulder hit.

Thanks for the info

I have not used it yet

I bought some 308 and my bud used it in PA and it seemed to work fine

I use their .308 150gr deer ammo for hogs. Works well and accuracy has been good in my AR-308. I mainly bought it for the price, and I figured the brass would be good for reloading.

I happened across some 130 grain Norma Whitetail .270 ammo at Scheel's in Colorado Springs when I was up there recently. Marked down to $18.99 a box and they had a LOT of it on the shelf. I hope it's good ammo, but I should have some great cases to load, no matter what. I bought 4 boxes and didn't even need any .270 at the time. I noticed it's made in Sweden just like the old Norma we used to know and love.

I bought the same for my 270 last year toward the end of the season. Shoots great in my rifle and I only shot one buck with that 270. Shot was at 150 yards and the deer bulldozed about ten feet and then he was dead as Elvis. For were I hunt in Alabama they are going to work well. Bonus is they are available. I stocked up on them so I guess I’m committed.

Been looking to try some.

Academy had the golden target in 6.5prc often.
The bond strike is starting to show up also.

I’ve never used any Norma ammunition. 99% of my hunting and shooting is with reloads.

I’m yet to shoot a critter with it, but the Whitetail and BondStrike loads have been very accurate in my 6.5 CM, .308, and .30-06.

I used a little of their 7-08 150 grain Whitetail ammo this past year. It was pretty accurate in my little Montana.

Not only is Norma's Match and Bondstrike the most accurate factory ammo (ridiculously so) I've ever shot (Sako S20 6.5 PRC), they are devastating on hogs of all sizes. Superb stuff IME.

180 bondstrikes shoot like hand loads in my 300 wsm.

Same here with my Win 70 Classic 300wsm. Very impressed with the Norma factory 180 Bondstrike.

Agree with the above comments. Very accurate in all the centerfires I've used and the brass is great for reloading. Norma Tac 22 is best bang for the buck in my CZ bolt rimfire. Great ammo overall.

Haven’t tried the ammo the OP asked about, but have bought a fair amount of their .223 and 100 rounds of their 6CM 107gr Match. That match ammo is very accurate in my FC, and was a real bargain at $21 or $22 a box. The .223 is okay, but not stellar, in either of my rifles, but was pretty cheap as well, and I’m hoping the brass is up to usual Norma standards. .223 is so cheap now, and primers so dear that I’m not loading any at present. That may change after I work through the good Fiocchi VMax I have.

IIRC, Norma is now owned by the Beretta/Benelli bunch, not RUAG, so I’m not sure who’s loading what or where now. RUAG loaded the .223 FMJ I have.
