My little brother from Florida was up for the death of my other brother. He was gonna hang out with me on the ranch for a couple days, and catch up. We decided to go look for deer on this last day of late plains rifle season. Started on the first and ended on the 14th. Have seen a total of 5 little bucks since opener, normal year you can pick from 20 or more. Nothing bigger than a still-in-velvet 3 point, and nothing I'd pull a trigger on. This busted up warrior and a small 4 point were together on the new place today, so I decided to punch my tag as it was the only game in town....

Pretty cool ol warrior there! Congrats! Three brothers indeed. I shot my second biggest whitetail buck the first hunting season after my Dad died. I’ve always felt like Dad had a hand in it that morning, and that his spirit is never too far away…especially in the woods. Grief sucks…celebration is way better. 😎
