Building a custom stick built hunting blind looking for suggestions on a few quality windows . Please pm if you have suggestions.

Hunting during drizzle and rain, you'll appreciate wide windows without very much height.

I’ll go to Lowe’s / HD and get house trailer bathroom windows.

Something like 12” x 30”? IIRC.

When building my stands I build the windows frames in the size and position that I need. Then go to Lowes or similar and have them cut plexiglass to sizes I need. I buy small hinges to attach them. You have to pre drill plexiglass just a bit smaller than the screws that come with the hinges or it will break. Then use a small piece of wood to make a latch when you raise them.

Very inexpensive and quiet which helps when the deer can show up 20-30 yards from you when they pop out of the brush. I usually make my windows maybe 6-7 inches high and 30 inches long and position them so I can see while sitting down. Then I will put another maybe slightly smaller one so I can see while standing. That one I do not hinge, just drop down to the lower one for the shot.

I put cheap stick on window tint on a patroon on the window.

Look for an old school bus. I built a blind years with those windows and it was probably one of the best blind windows I have been in mine or someone else’s.

I built one with 2x4 …….

So I am thinking deerview inside the blind and “ shutters” on the out side when it’s not being used.

Then I can store my hunting stuff in it until I use it.

So my question…..windows slide, drop down, lift up?

Very little long bow use anticipated as I got a crossbow permit.

I use cloth and push pins to cover up the biggest part if I have a window open. Especially on the side suns comes up or down

Less is more. Just enough to see/shoot out of.

I really like your box stand....I've built two similar using create boxes with plexiglass for windows...on a skid for easy moving... I generally get any outdoor paint and mix together for a dark color.

We hunt fields often with our box stands, 6-8ft is plenty.
I noticed you're trying to see above some small trees or brush.

I hunted out of a house with these last year in Missouri. I'm in in the process of building a shoot house right now and these are on order for it

Mine look just like hancos. Right down to the material and push pins. Even the wood toggle that keeps the window closed.

We use deerview flip up windows. Used to hand make windows with plywood, router and in set plexiglass.
Deerview is the easy button and they won’t rot.

Deerview windows work great. Metal framed with nothing to rot. Buy the tinted ones you will be glad you did.

Another deer view fan here. Flip up. I recommend adding handles on the inside for times below freezing with moisture to make it easier to open with ice.

Sliding RV/Mobile Home windows are what we use.

Last ones I ordered was 24x24 and costed about $26 a piece shipped.

That was probably 8 years ago now though and you'd probably be lucky to get one for $100 nowadays.

Plain plexiglass on a door hinge with some nuts and bolts through it will work just fine too.

Have used Deerview, as well. Simple design. Seal up well. Price is reasonable until you start getting into really long ones.
