ground was pretty dry when we got the plots done...then, right as the first seedlings were popping, got torrential flooding rains, and was worried some of them got washed out.

did have some plots on sloped areas with poor soil, and a couple of those did show some evidence of washout in places, but overall, plots are lookin pretty fair, deer are moving in on them, and seein some really good bucks this year.

one of the bigger ones, wheat/rye/oats, and dusted it with clover a few days ago..

also have several roads on our place that i disc up and plant, makes good highways that funnel deer past some bow stands...call this one "The Green Mile"....this one is 10' wide in some areas, gets up to 25' wide in a few spots...its about 300yards long at the moment, and i disced the next 300 yards to seed next weekend.

didnt take them long to find the green patch here, new plot for this year, this one did get some washout in some areas, may reseed some Rye to fill in...

Looking good. Thorn is a stud

Plots were planted on my land about 2 weeks ago. Oats and clover. Were just starting to come up last weekend - cant wait to see them saturday and check out the tracks.

Need to set up a couple of moultrie game cams and see if their "plot watcher" technology is worth a flip
I've got food plots,..you've got Agricultural Fields.!

wink

Looks good, deer are hitting my teeny plots as well..

Hope we get some more rain this weekend...
Nice plots. It's a good feeling! Got mine in the past Friday/Saturday at my place in Georgia. Just over an inch of rain on Sunday.
Ol Thorn has a lot of character. Pretty cool.
another pic...The 4th pic down that i posted above, the one with 2 does dated 9/30...here is the same plot with 10 days more growth...still thin in areas, but trying to make a comeback...

Deerwhacker...did you get some heavy storms a couple weeks ago? found today we lost one tripod feeder from wind, and found 5 trees so far that lightning wiped out, trail cam pic caught one of those getting it:

Yes we did. Had lots of lightning associated with them as you say.

I got my plots in a couple days before the rain hit, rain gauge at the plot said 3" so everything sprouted right up.

Wheat and Winter peas are 3-4" tall.

Crappy pic, but you can see the green in the background...

Looks like you're off to a good start. Should be setup for some nice hunting.
